Puri: The process for chariot construction for Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Mahaprabhu Jagannatha began at the Puri Srimandir for annual Rath Yatra.
On the auspicious day of Akshaya Trutiya, the ‘Agyanmala’ (consent garland of Mahaprabhu)was received & Ratha Katha Anukula ritual was performed. This starts the process of chariot construction for Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra & Mahaprabhu Jagannatha.
This is being taken up by observing COVID-19 guidelines. It includes prior COVID testing of all those who will be involved in the process. Sevaks engaged in making of the Chariots will stay in isolation at Bhakta Niwas of SJTA.
The vaccination has started on priority for 18-44 years of age group as well. Further, regular screening and health checks are being organised, informed SJTA Chief Administrator Dr Krishan Kumar.
