Puri: An important meeting of the Puri District Administration will be held today with regard to the preparations for this year’s Ratha Yatra. This year, the world famous Ratha Yatra is scheduled to be held on the 7th of July. The meeting will discuss various issues and deliberate on organizing the Ratha Yatra smoothly. Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain will preside over the meeting. It will mainly discuss the management of the Yatra and keeping reqady all the amenities for the lakhs of pilgrims who will gather at Puri. Drinking water, electricity supply, health and sanitation, road repair works, transit facilities for pilgrims etc., will be discussed in the meeting. Also, the measures taken by the district administration regarding safety of devotees, traffic management and other measures during the Yatra will be discussed. Senior officials from various departments will attend the meeting.
