Bhubaneswar: The State Assembly today passed the total Budget provision of Rs 20293.94 crore for the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water department.
While Rs. 15188.43 crore has been provided under programme expenditure, Rs 522.11 crore administrative expenditure, Rs 2023.46 crore 15th Central Finance Commission and Rs 2559.94 crore under 5th State Finance Commission.
In a bid to arrest distress migration in the districts like Balangir, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Nuapada, the Odisha government has made a provision of Rs 2000 crore under MGNREGS in its Budget for 2021-22.
With this allocation, the State Government will provide wage rate under MGNREGS at par with the minimum wage rate in 20 migration prone Blocks in above four districts.
The budget provision also includes Angul, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Jajpur and 3 blocks of Mayurbhanj.
