Sambalpur: The Hirakud dam authorities today opened 10 gates of the reservoir in the first phase.
Following the incessant rain in the upper catchment areas, 10 sluice gates of the dam have been opened to discharge excess water.
The water level of the reservoir stands at 612.62 feet by 1 pm today. Currently, 2.96 lakh cusecs of water is entering into the dam, while 1.91 lakh cusecs water is being discharged.
