Bhubaneswar: An eleventh standard student of the Kendriya Vidayala 3 here attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of the school building yesterday. She has been admitted to the hospital and continues to be critical with severe injuries.
According to sources, the girl took the extreme step after being abused and harassed by the lady physical education teacher of the school. She was first taken to the Mancheswar Railway Hospital and later shifted to a private hospital. The girl’s father has lodged a complaint at the Mancheswar police station against the school and the police has started investigations into the matter.
Meanwhile, members of the parents association sat on a dharana in front of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, KV Sangathan demanding action against the lady Physical Education Teacher.
