Screening Centres to Be Set Up at Bhubaneswar Railway Station

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of rise in Covid-19 cases in some States, three to four screening centres will be set up at the Bhubaneswar railway station, informed BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhary today.

The passengers having any COVID-19 symptom have to undergo antigen test at the centre itself, he added.

“As per the State Government guidelines, screening and run diagnostic tests on incoming passengers will be conducted which will in turn help to prevent a COVID-19 resurgence in Odisha,” he said.

Odisha has seen a slight rise in new COVID-19 cases in the last two days.

Earlier, the Odisha Government has made it mandatory for passengers coming from 12 States to undergo thermal screening at railway stations and airports.

The States are Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Punjab, Delhi, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

The Government has asked the district administrations, Municipal Commissioners, Airport Directors and the East Coast Railways to make arrangements for thermal screening of all passengers and on-site Rapid Antigen Test of those symptomatic.
