Sambalpur: Section 144 CrPC has been imposed in several places in Sambalpur town area in view of the rising cases of COVID-19 and flood situation.
“Keeping in the view of the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and flood situation in Sambalpur town Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed from Nelson Mandela Chowk to Durgapali Chowk and Mahanadi New Bridges as huge gathering of public is found at the stretch of Mahanadi river bank,” stated an order issued by the Sambalpur district administration.
The order will remain in force with immediate effect till it is revoked by the administration.
Public is requested and appealed – not to gather in these areas. Legal action would be initiated against the defaulters, the order added.
