Berhampur: In a boost to Biju Janata Dal ahead of crucial Panchayat elections, several BJP workers and leaders in Ganjam district have joined the ruling party.
Reposing faith in the leadership of BJD supermo Naveen Patnaik, the BJP workers from Badaborasingi GP in Bellaguntha block under Surada Assembly constituency joined the BJD at a mishrana parba held in Badaborasingi.
Senior BJD leader Ramaeswar Patra has played a major role in bringing the new members to the party fold.
BJD Organizational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das joined the programme through virtual mode.
He welcomed the new members to the party and expressed that their joining will further strengthen the BJD at the grassroots level in the Surada Assembly constituency.
Several BJD leaders including local MLA attended the programme.
