Shirdi Sai Baba Temple to Remain Shut from Sunday

Mumbai: Strongly condemning the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s alleged comment terming Pathri in Parbhani as Sai Baba’s birthplace, Saibaba Sansthan Trust has called for the indefinite closure of Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi.

According to reports, the villagers of Shirdi met on Friday and decided to protest against announcing Pathari as Sai Baba’s birthplace from Sunday.

The villagers will again meet on Saturday evening to discuss the issue. However, devotees will not face any difficulty if they come to Shirdi, said the administrative body of Sai Baba’s Samadhi.

The controversy erupted about the birthplace of Shirdi’s Sai Baba after the Maharashtra CM announced to give Rs 100 crore for the development of Pathri village in Parbhani district in Maharashtra, which locals claim to be a birthplace of Sai Baba.
