Bhubaneswar: The Sital Sasthi Yatra of Lord Lingaraj will be held on May 27 adhering to lockdown guidelines of the government.
A decision in this regard has been taken by the Lingaraj Temple administration.
A letter of the same will be written to the State Government through Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner seeking permission for conducting Sital Sasthi, said BMC Additional Commissioner Abani Kanta Patnaik.
The marriage of Shiva and Parvati is celebrated as Sitalasasthi. The divine marriage is solemnized on the sixth day of fortnight of the Hindu month of ‘Jyestha’ every year. The festival is celebrated to welcome the much-awaited monsoon.
