Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation has declared some areas coming under the Dum Duma locality as Containment zone after six residents were reported Coronavirus positive on Saturday. Five of the people belonging to the Subash Nagar slum who have reported positive have no travel and contact history.
Informing the decision, Prem Chandra Chaudhary , Commissioner, BMC, said that the entire slum and its adjoining localities in Dumduma have been declared as containment zone to contain the spread of the virus.
According to the Containment order, the area from Hanuman temple to Plot no-323, from Plot-no-323 to Plot no-261 and 258, and from Plot no-262 and 258 to Hanuman temple have been declared Containment zones. All government and non-government offices in these areas will remain closed and those living in the containment zone have been asked to remain indoors. BMC has started strict surveillance in the area which will be for seven days.
