Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch has recovered record 20.73 kilograms of narcotics substances (Brown Sugar) so far in the current year 2020.
The STF has registered as many as 22 cases of drug peddling in the state in this year and arrested 43 accused in connection with drug peddling.
Besides, a pistol and several vehicles including cars used by the peddlers have also been seized.
The magnitude of such seizure is evident from the fact that the total seizure of 2020 till date by STF alone is more than the total cumulative seizure made by all agencies of Odisha Police in last eight years.
Notably, the agency today seized brown sugar weighing 4 kilograms and arrested one peddler from Jaleswar in Balasore district.
