Sundargarh ADM Arrested for Possessing Disproportionate Assets

Rourkela: Additional District Magistrate of Sundargarh Biswajit Mohapatra was arrested by the vigilance officials for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Vigilance sleuths had conducted raids at multiple locations lined with the ADM on Friday.

During the search operations, the officials have unearthed assets worth around Rs 10 crore, including cash over Rs 3 lakh, one double-storied building at Naharkanta area in Bhubaneswar worth about Rs 89 lakh, one flat at Asiana in Rasulgarh, over Rs 2 crores in Bank FDs, savings accounts and insurance premiums, gold weighing around 350 grams, Rs 18 lakh deposited in Mutual funds, Rs 2 lakh in NPS -10 Plots in Bhubaneswar and Jagatsinghpur district.
Mohapatra will be produced before the Court of Special Judge (Vigilance) in Bhubaneswar, according to the vigilance.
