Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a compensation of rupees five lakh to the family members of the people died in the Talcher Coal Mine Accident. The accident occurred Tuesday night when a large coal mine caved in the Bharatpur coal mines of Mahanadi Coal Fields Limited.
While four persons are feared dead in the incident, nine have been rescued and being treated in MCL hospital.
The NDRF has joined with sniffer dogs in the rescue operations. Till now three dead bodies have been taken out of the mines.
