Make-in-Odisha Gets Another Big Push: Naveen Launches 22 New Projects Worth Rs 5000 Cr, 10K Jobs to be Created

Bhubaneswar: Taking another step towards making Odisha the manufacturing hub of India, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the 7th phase of Ground Breaking and Inauguration of various projects. The Chief Minister inaugurated the projects at a program held at the Lok Seva Bhavan here today.

The industrial projects inaugurated today include Arati Steel (Athagarh), Boudh Distillary, Jai Bharat Spices (Cuttack) Hindalco Solar (Lapanga), J K Laxmi Cement (Cuttack), JSW Cement (Kalinganagar), M K Plast (Ramdaspur), Nezone Tubes (Jajpur), Oricon (Khordha), Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited (Sambalpur).

The Chief Minister also launched the Ground Breaking of projects that include ABP Energytek Industries (p) Ltd, Aditya Birla Fashion Retail Ltd, Astral Polytechnic, Binu Industries, May Fair Hotel and Resorts, Khusi Industries, Maheswari Packaging, Lalita Packaging, Sai Vinayaka And Co, Srihari Spong Pvt Ltd, C J Darcl Logistics Limited, Rungta Mines Ltd.

Complimenting the companies for setting up industries, the Chief Minister said, “I congratulate all the concerned companies on this milestone and assure everyone of complete facilitation support from the State Government. These projects will usher in the next era of industrial growth in the State and will contribute towards the vision of an industrially prosperous Odisha.

Odisha has a vision of becoming one of the top three investment destinations in the country in terms of grounded investments. Towards achieving this vision, we have devised the `5T’ strategy, in which Transformation goals will be achieved through Teamwork, Transparency and Technology in a Time-bound manner.

This strategy has already started yielding encouraging results towards our industrial growth. You will be glad to know that in the past 20 months alone, we have undertaken ground-breaking and inauguration of over 120 industrial units with an investment of Rupees Ninety-two thousand six hundred eighty six crore in the State with the creation of employment opportunities for over 1.2 lakh people. I believe, all Departments must take pride in facilitating new manufacturing investments and creating employment opportunities for people of our State.”

The Chief Minister also released a coffee table book Make-in-Odisha 2018. Minister of State for Industries, Energy & MSME Capt. Divya Shankar Mishra, Chief Secretary Shri Aditya Padhy also spoke on the occasion.

Industries Principal Secretary Shri Sanjeev Chopra outlined the details of the projects. CMD IDCO Shri Sanjay Singh proposed the vote of thanks.
The 22 new projects spanning ten sectors have a potential for investment of Four Thousand Four Hundred sixty One Crore rupees and will help generate employment for 9451. Notably, in the first 20 months, ground breaking and inaugurations of 120 industrial units with an investment of Rs 92686 Crore and employment potential for over 1.2 lakh people has been undertaken in the state.
