Two Interstate Ganja Smugglers Wanted in Mumbai and Chennai Nabbed by Berhampur Police

Berhampur: In a breakthrough, the Berhampur Police has nabbed two interstate ganja smugglers including the kingpin who are wanted in Mumbai and Chennai.

The smugglers were handed over to the police in Mumbai and Chennai following their arrest by the Berhampur police.

The interstate smugglers have been identified as Ranjan Nayak(34) of Dharampur village under Digapahandi PS and K.Hrushikesh Reddy,@ Rissi (26) of Hantulu village under Golanthara PS.

Nayak was wanted since 2021 in the NDPS case registered in Mumbai but he was absconding since 2021. Anti-Narcotics Cell, Ghatkopar Unit of Mumbai Commissionerate, Mumbai reached out to Berhampur Police for assistance.

Digapahandi Police team apprehend absconding accused Ranjan Nayak. A team of IIC Digapahandi along with SI Jyoti Behera SI Sofia Mishra and Const M.R.Sethi conducted raid and apprehended the accused and handed him over to Anti-Narcotics Cell, Ghatkopar Unit, Crime Branch, Mumbai, Maharashtra, informed Berhampur SP Dr. Saravana Vivek M.

Previously Lakmidar Pradhan was arrested in the same case.

Similarly another interstate Ganja smuggler who was wanted in a FIR registered in PEW,Gummudipundi police station , Chennai for smuggling Ganja was arrested by Berhampur Police and handed over to Tamil Nadu Police team.

Accused K.Hrushikesh Reddy was wanted in NDPS case registered in Chennai but he was absconding since the date of registration of the case.

Prohibition enforcement wing ,Gummudipundi police station , Chennai reached out to Berhampur Police for assistance.

Golanthara Police team comprising of IIC ,Golanthata PS, ASI Krutibas Nayak, ASI Ramasankar Behera and others conducted raid and apprehended the absconding accused and handed him over to PEW, Gummiudipundi police station in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, the Berhampur SP added.
