Sambalpur: A police personnel in Odisha’s Sambalpur district earned praises for helping the homeless person amidst the COVID-19 induced lockdown.
Jogesh Panda, IIC of Ainthapali Police Station in Sambalpur, has received information that a homeless person was moving in Budharaja area and taking food from roadside dustbin. He rushed to the spot immediately with dry food and water.
Upon reaching there, he found a mentally challenged person (aged 45) was taking food from dustbin. The IIC provided him food, water and mask. He also initiated correspondence with Parichaya,an NGO for insane person.
The NGO has taken the person into their custody for his safety, security and accommodation.
For this act of humanity, the police officer has earned praises from all quarters including IGP NR Sambalpur Narshing Bhol.
