Veteran BJP Leader Biswabhusan Harichandan Appointed AP Governor

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development which assumes significant to Odisha, veteran BJP leader and former minister  Biswabhusan Harichandan has been appointed as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

Harichandan joined Bharatiya Jana Sangha in 1971 and became its National Executive Member and State General Secretary till the formation of Janata Party in 1977.

He was detained under MISA in 1975. He joined BJP and was its President for State from 1980 to 1988.

He joined Janata Party in 1988 and became its Vice-President for the State. He again joined BJP on 4th April 1996.

In a related development, Sushri Anusuiya Uikey has been appointed as the Governor of Chhattisgarh. The appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices, said a press communique issued by Rashtrapati Bhawan.
