Zero Tolerance to Graft: Two Engineers Given Compulsory Retirement

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Thursday ordered compulsory retirement to two more  officers for alleged involvement in corruption.

Prana Krushna Prasad, son of  Gobinda Prasad Behera, Executive Engineer, at present Angul Rural Works Quality Control Division has been given compulsory retirement today.

Prana Krushna Prasad is involved in two Vigilance cases of trap, relating to demand and acceptance of illegal gratification. He was caught twice taking bribe, first time in 2015, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.38, dated 29.7.15 and second time in BBSR Vigilance PS Case No.48, dated 8.11.2018.

Similarly, Umesh Chandra Tripathy, OES, Deputy Executive Engineer presently working in Tusra (R&B) Sub-Division-1, (R&B) Division, Sonepur under Works Department has been expelled from the services.

Tripathy  is involved in four vigilance cases in Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.40/07, against him on charge of showing undue official favour to the contractor. Similarly, he was also involved in  oraput Vigilance PS Case No.24/12 on charge of misappropriation of Government money by recording inflated measurements, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.25/12, misappropriation of Government money by recording inflated measurements, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.60/16, possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
