26 Teachers, 2 Students Test Positive for COVID-19 in Gajapati

Paralakhemundi: A day after the schools reopened across Odisha, as many as 26 school teachers and two students tested positive for COVID-19 in Gajapati district on Saturday.

According to Chief District Medical Officer Pradip Kumar Patra, 17 teachers tested positive in Mohana block and 14 others in the District Headquarters Hospital at Paralakhemundi.

As per the government guidelines, the district administration conducted COVID-19 test of the teachers and other staff of schools across the district before the reopening.
Notably, the Odisha Government allowed the schools to reopen for the students of Classes X and XII from Friday.

All the schools across the state had remained closed due to COVID-19 pandemic since March last year.
