Bhubaneswar: In a stupendous response to Mo School Abhiyan, more than 5.6 lakh alumni have become a part of the programme, which aims at transformation of government and government-aided schools.
Over 33,000 schools in all districts of the state have joined the campaign so far.
It has been revealed at the 24th Executive Council meeting of ‘Mo School Abhiyan’ held here under the chairmanship of School and Mass Education Department Secretary Satyabrata Sahu.
As many 36,311 alumni joined the programme in March, contributing Rs 5.2 crore for the development of their respective schools.
With this, the total number of alumni in the campaign increased to 5, 06,386.
At the 24th Executive Council meeting, projects worth Rs 121.26 crore have been approved in 24 districts of Odisha.
The ‘Mo School’ Abhiyan was launched on Children’s Day in 2017 to bring together the alumni, their alma mater, and the community for the transformation of government and government-aided schools.
The Chief Minister appealed to the former students and other stakeholders to involve in the ‘Mo School’ campaign to develop the overall school education system and set examples for others.
