Modi Govt Reconstitutes Eight Cabinet Committees, Amit Shah Member of All Panels, Nirmala Sitharaman Part of Seven, Rajnath Missing from Key Panel
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Central government on Thursday reconstituted eight key cabinet committees, with Home Minister Amit Shah becoming member of all committees, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman member of seven panels whereas Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inducted into two committees.
The eight committees which have been reconstituted include Cabinet Committee on Accommodation, Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs, Cabinet Committee on Security, Cabinet Committee on Investment and Growth and Cabinet Committee on Employment and Skill Development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is part of six committees, barring Cabinet Committee on Accommodation and Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs.
Except the Appointments Committee, Nirmala Sitharaman is also part of all the committees.
Rajnath Singh, who moved to Defence Ministry after heading the home ministry for five years, is in the Cabinet Committees on Economic Affairs and Security but is missing from Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Jitendra Singh and Minister of State (I/C) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri will be special invitees to Cabinet Committee on Accommodation, according to a statement issued by the Centre on Thursday.
