Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has come up with a unique initiative to deal with plastic waste in the city.
The civic body has decided to provide a free Aahar meal for every half kilo of plastic.
The programme will be launched on Monday in collaboration with UNDP and Touch Stone Foundation, the BMC said.
The programme will be launched at the Aahar centre located near the BMC head office in Kalpana Square.
All the 11 Aahar kendras in the state capital will be included in the programme, the BMC stated.
Notably, the same initiative was undertaken in Kotpad NAC in Koraput district and had got response from people.
