Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today filed nomination papers for the election to the post of president of Biju Janata Dal of which he is the founder member.
Naveen arrived at the BJD party office and filed two sets of nomination papers with the Party election Returning Officer Pratap Keshari Deb. Senior party leaders including Prasanna Acharya, Niranjan Pujari, Debi Prasad Mishra, Ashok Panda, Pramila Malik, Pradip Panigrahi, Jagannath Sarka, Sarojini Hembram, Pranab Praksh Das and Sanjay Dasburma have proposed his name as president.
Patnaik is all set to be elected as the BJD president for eighth consecutive time unopposed.
The election results will be announced on 26th February.
