Cuttack: The Home Guards in the state would get enhanced salary as the Orissa High Court on Friday directed the state government to provide salary to Home Guards to the minimum pay equivalent to the scale of the lowest rank in the police.
It has further asked the government to pay an interim daily allowance of Rs 500 to Home Guards with retrospective effect from January 1, 2020.
The Court took the view on the basis of a directive issued by the Supreme Court.
The apex court had earlier ordered an increase in the duty allowance of Home Guards to the minimum pay equivalent to the scale of the lowest rank in the police.
