Puri: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today offered prayers at the Shri Jagannath Temple Puri. He was given a grand reception at the temple Singhadwara by Shri Jagannath Temple administration officials, Collector Balwant Singh, SP Umashankar Dash and the servitors. He spent more than an hour in the temple. He also took the blessings of Mukti Mandap Pandit Sabha inside the temple.
Tight security arrangements were made near the temple with deployment of senior police officials and eight platoons of force around and inside the temple.
Amit Shah reached Odisha yesterday on a two day visit to chair the Eastern Zonal Council Meeting held at Bhubaneswar. He is also scheduled to visit the Lingaraj Temple today.
