New Delhi: India reported the highest single-day spike of 11,929 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking total number of cases to 3,20,922 cases on Sunday, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
As many as 311 persons died of the disease during the same period. The total COVID-19 related death toll in the country reached 9,195 so far, the Ministry said.
The country has registered over 11,000 new infections in a single day for the second consecutive day.
More than 70,000 new persons tested positive for the COVID-19 in one week and over 2,000 deaths have been recorded in the same period.
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat continue to remain the worst-affected states in the country.
