Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today announced to provide assistance for the treatment of Monalisa Mandal, a bright student from Balasore district, who is battling with cancer.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the treatment of the girl, who recently passed the matriculation exam with 80 per cent marks, will be taken care under the Biju Swastya Kalyan Yojana.
Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Balasore CDMO and BDO had earlier visited Monalisa at her house to take stock of her health condition.
Monalisa, who has been diagnosed with bone cancer in her right hand, has been brought to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar for treatment.
The girl has set examples for others after she had secured 80 per cent marks in her matriculation exam. She appeared for the exam with her left hand.
