Bhubaneswar: Odisha is among the top five states in the country in terms of number of COVID-19 tests being conducted per day per million.
According to data given by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Affairs, Odisha is conducting 867 tests per day per million compared to national average of 602 tests.

Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had said that the State Government would take the fight against pandemic to the next level by enhancing testing in the coming weeks.
Odisha is among the few states in the country providing treatment for coronavirus completely free of cost so that nobody suffers for want of financial resources. The State has ramped up testing from around 14,000 samples per day at the start of this month to more than 40,000 tests. It has so far tested 807826 samples for the virus.
The Odisha Government has set a target to conduct one lakh tests per day in the coming days.
