Bhubaneswar: The pre-school children were given uniforms under Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana at Anganwadi Centres across Odisha.
As many as 14.83 lakh pre-school children have been provided with two sets of uniform as per the color composition (blue color pants and pink color shirts) in 61040 Anganwadi Centres by October 2. 1344 SHGs across the State were engaged in stitching and supply of the uniforms.
Provision of two sets of uniforms for Pre-School children under “Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana” is an important initiative of the State Government.
Pre-School children also look forward to getting new uniforms that keep them interested to attend AWCs to avail a host of other Anganwadi Srvices including Supplementary Nutrition Programme(SNP) and Early Child hood Care Education (ECCE).
Public representatives, PRI members, eminent personalities, members of Mothers/ Jaanch Committees, parents/ grandparents of the children and head master/mistress of school in the AWC area attended the programme. COVID protocols were strictly followed during the distribution of uniforms, the release said.
