Kendrapara: Biju Janata Dal supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today kick-started marathon campaign for party candidate Sabitri Agarwalla for the upcoming by-poll to the Patkura Assembly Constituency in Kendrapara district.
The BJD supremo led a roadshow after reaching Barimula area in Kendrapara this morning.
Thousands of people, including BJD activities, gathered on the both sides of the road to have a glimpse of the Odisha’s longest serving Chief Minister as his specially-designed campaign bus passed through.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd during the roadshow, Naveen said that he will personally look after the development of Patkura Constituency.
The BJD chief also appealed the people to vote for Sabitri Agarwalla, wife of late Bed Prakash Agarwalla, in the election.
As per sources, Naveen will campaign extensively in Derabish, Garadpur and Marshaghai blocks in the district before returning to Bhubaneswar this evening.
The election to the Patkura seat will be held on July 20.
