Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government is planning to introduce electric buses in three cities in order to promote green energy and check air pollution, informed a Minister in the Assembly today.
The electric-powered buses will be introduced in the pilgrim city of Puri and twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, Science & Technology Minister Ashok Panda told the House.
The electric buses will run within 100 km radius covering Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri, he said.
The State Government will ink a Memorandum of Understanding in this regard soon, he added.
The Minister further stated that several organizations have been proposed for this unique initiative.
A draft MoU has been circulated among all stakeholders, the Minister stated.
