Mo School Program Sees Tremendous Response From Various Quarters

Bhubaneswar: The call given by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to adopt schools under the Mo School initiative has been attracting enormous interest from various quarters. Since the launch of the program, people from all walks including working and retired bureaucrats, ministers and other dignitaries have come forward to adopt government schools from various districts of the state. The program aims to improve the overall academic and infrastructural aspects of government schools in the state with the help of interested individuals adopting them.

Till 25th of January, as many as 16 individuals have adopted 26 government schools from various districts of the state. Chief Minister’s Office’s Chief Advisor R Balakrishnan has adopted three schools including that of Biju Babu’s parental village school Dr Sadananda Tripathy Bidyapith of Belaguntha, Nuagaon, Ganjam, and the other two schools being Mahatab High School, Mangalpur, Jajpur and Jajpur Government High School. Likewise, Mission Shakti Director Sujata Kartikeyan has adopted two schools including Baluria High School, Pattamundai, where her father Dr Akhsay Rout had his childhood education. Among others, Justice Arijit Pasayat, former judge of Supreme Court of India has adopted the Revenshaw Collegiate School Cuttack.

The list of people who have adopted schools also includes Minister Dibyashankar Mishra, Samir Ranjan Das and MLA Pranab Prakash Das. Chairman, Odisha Skill Development Authority Subroto Bagchi and Bijay Sahoo, Advisor, Adarsha Vidyalay have also adopted schools according to their choice. The enthusiasm for adopting schools has been tremendous among other administrative officials and District Collectors who have whole heartedly come forward in improving the overall academic condition of the schools.
