Odisha Govt Cancels MoU with Vedanta for Setting Up 500 Bedded Teaching Hospital in Kalahandi

Bhubaneswar: In a big development, the Odisha Government has cancelled the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vedanta for construction of a teaching hospital a medical college at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district.

The government has cited inordinate delay in execution of the project by the Vedanta Limited for scrapping the MoU.
Health Department has issued a notice in this regard.

“The Government, after careful consideration have been pleased to cancel the MoU signed on 27.03.2018 between Government of Odisha and M/s Vedanta Limited for construction of 500 Bedded Teaching Hospital for Medical College at Bhawanipatna, Dist- Kalahandi, Odisha with immediate effect. Due to inordinate delay in execution of project By M/s Vedanta LTD”, the notification stated.
