India Logs 3.5 Lakh Covid Cases, 2,767 Deaths in a Day

New Delhi: COVID-19 cases continue to rise alarmingly in India as another 3,49,691 new cases have been detected in the country in the last 24 hours.

This is the highest ever single-day rise in cases reported by any country so far, and the fourth consecutive day when India has set such a dubious global record.

India has continued to register over 2 lakh new Covid-19 cases on a daily basis since April 15.
The Covid-19 caseload now stand at 1,69,60,172 in the country, including 26,82,751 active cases.

For the first time, 2,767 deaths were registered. The death toll surged to 1,92,311.

Meanwhile, as many as 2,17,113 Covid infected people recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery so far to 1,40,85,110.

According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 25,36,612 people were also vaccinated in the last 24 hours, taking the total inoculation count to 14,09,16,417.
