Sambalpur: The first flood water of the season from Hirakud dam will be released into river Mahanadi on July 11.
The water will be discharged at around 11 am, informed Additional Chief Engineer of Hirakud Headworks and Additional Spillway.
Meanwhile, the Hirakud dam authorities have directed the concerned officials to evacuate the river bed, downstream of the dam as precautionary measure.
