Puri: Not so many days ago the Puri Badadanda was so crowded and clumsy that people visiting the famous Lord Jagannath temple had to face many difficulties. Without a spacious area for movement, pilgrims were feeling jam packed in the surroundings of the temple. Even if they wanted to have a Darshan of the temple from the Singhadwara, there was no proper place.
But the things have changed today. Now the place has gone through a beautiful transformation. With the clearing of the area of unauthorized encroachments, the place is much spacious today. The impact could be assessed with the fact that today the open space in front of the Jagannath temple has become the gathering place for hundreds of pilgrims.
Tourists coming from outside the state have now a bigger space to movement and take space. Recently, a group of pilgrims coming from Karnataka under the aegis of Mysore Bhajan Samabesh gathered at the Badadanda and performed Bhajans of Lord Jagannath. The mesmerizing event was watched by hundreds of people who were there to have a Darshan of Lord Jagannath. Locals also had a glimpse of the transformation that has taken place on their own Badadanda.
