Angul: In a bid to bring a paradigm shift in urban sanitation and livelihood, the Angul Municipality has started the MESH (Micro Enterprise in Sanitation & Health) program with the support of UNICEF and ERAM scientific in its jurisdiction.
The first pilot was inaugurated today at Bazaar Area here in the presence of Angul Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain.
In line with the district administration’s vision, the program envisages to bringing in new order in urban sanitation and livelihood in an inclusive manner.
The MESH programme has three components as revenue sources – E-toilet, NCDs (Non Communicable Diseases) Health Testing unit and Food Kiosk & Sanitation Mart. It will augur well in sanitation governance while empowering the transgender communities.
