Angul: The vigilance sleuths today arrested a senior clerk in Sub-Collector office in Angul district for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe.
Sadhu Chatamba, senior clerk at Sub- Collector office in Pallahara has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division, while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.2,000 from complainant Ghasiram Behera in order to accord permission in favor of the complainant for sale of his land .
The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from possession of the accused clerk.
The residential house of the accused is being searched on DA angle, the vigilance department said.
