AP Conducts Panchayat Poll in Kotia Disputed Villages

Koraput: Despite Kotia border dispute is in sub judice, the Andhra Pradesh Government is conducting panchayat poll that began today morning amid tight security in the disputed region.

The voting has began at 6.00 AM today in five villages of Kotia. The villages include Madkar, Daliamba, Barnapadu, Patusineri and Konadara in presence of Andhra electoral officials,
The voters were seen in a long queue in the morning to cast their votes.

Yesterday, Koraput Collector Abdaal Akhtar had written to his Vizianagaram counterpart appealing not to conduct the elections in the disputed region of Kotia as the matter is currently sub-judice in the Supreme Court.
