Bhubaneswar: In a major setback to the bureaucrat turned politician Aparajita Sarangi, a strong discontent is brewing against her within the party.
The Bhubaneswar unit of the BJP has expressed its displeasure over the style of functioning of the local MP, who is allegedly ignoring the grassroots members of the party and has been trying to run the party with her handpicked persons.
In a letter to Odisha BJP general secretary Manas Kumar Mohanty, the local unit leader Sushant Kumar Sabat has alleged that Sarangi is heavily relaying on her ‘Team Aparajita’ that comprises of her handpicked persons, keeping the party organization at bay both at this district as well as zone level.
Sarangi is holding meetings without informing the bona fide party functionaries. She has been trying to run a parallel organization with her handpicked criminal elements, the Bhubaneswar unit of the saffron party alleged.
The local unit of Odisha BJP also alleged that the banners used for various party programmes by the Bhubaneswar MP carry only her photograph while the State level and district level leaders are being ignored.
She is treating the party workers like that of clerk.
The local unit sought disciplinary action against her and her associates by the party.
