Berhampur Milk Trader Murder Case: Three Including Mastermind Arrested

Berhampur: In a major breakthrough, the Berhampur police arrested three persons including the mastermind in connection with the sensational murder case of milk trader Lambodar Muni at Hilpatna near Bijipur in Gosaninuagaon here on Friday.

The mastermind behind the case is Rupesh Padhy alias Lala (24), a resident of Neheru Nagar of Gosaninuagaon, who was working as a driver of the milk company of late Lambodar Muni, according to police.

While two associates of Lala are in police custody, two others are absconding, said Berhampur SP Pinak Mishra while adding that the investigation into the matter is in progress.

The police also recovered cash of Rs 400,000, a gold chain weighing 98 grams, a wrist watch, a pair of gold ear ring weighing 3 grams and gold finger ring from the possession of the accused persons.

Notably, Lombodar Muni (66), the proprietor of Mahalaxmi Bhandar, a distributor of Heritage milk products, was allegedly killed by unknown culprits at his office-cum-residence located at Hilpatna near Bijipur in Gosaninuagaon on June 13.
