Bhubaneswar: At least four street vendors were fined in the capital city here on Friday for allegedly violating the COVID-19 guidelines of the Government.
After receiving the complaint, an enforcement team of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) led by South East ZDC Anshuman Rath rushed to the spot and imposed fine on four temporary biriyani shops near Big Bazaar in Kharavela Nagar.
The vendors had allegedly violating the guidelines by allowing customers to eat there instead of take-away of food.
A total fine Rs 3250 was collected from the violaters.
The BMC swung into action immediately a citizen brought it into notice through social media regarding violation of covid19 guidelines.
The month of July is very crucial, and we appeal to the citizens as well as businessmen to follow BMC SOP religiously, said ZDC Anshuman Rath.
The civic body also appealed the denizens of the capital city to avoid crowding and follow all guidelines for the safety of all.
