Bhubaneswar Unit-IV Market To Reopen From Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has today allowed the Unit 4 market to reopen from tomorrow.

The market was closed on the 16th of this month after a number of positive cases were detected in the market and its vicinity.

The order issued today by the BMC said that 14 days have passed since closure of Unit 4 Market and its adjacent areas since 16.07.2020.

In the meantime, multiple rounds of Mass Testing have been carried out exclusively for the Vendors of Unit 4 Market on different dates during this period. Also, the Unit 4 Market and its adjacent areas have been sanitized by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation multiple times during the period of closure.

The Unit 4 Market caters to supply of essential commodities and food and is a wholesale market for grocery items in Bhubaneswar. The Vendor Associations of Unit 4 Market have submitted an undertaking with regard to adherence of all the guidelines issued by Govt. of India, Govt. of Odisha and BMC relating to social distancing and submitted that it will be the individual responsibility of Head of the Commercial Shops to ensure compliance of the above.

In view of the above, Unit 4 Market and the markets operating adjacent to it are hereby allowed to open from 31′ July, 2020 onwards subject to adherence of the above mentioned guidelines as issued by the Government and BMC.
