BJD MP Sasmit Patra Donates Rs 1 Crore from MPLAD Fund for Fighting COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: After donating his three month’s salary to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to support the State in its fight against Coronavirus, Biju Janata Dal MP Dr. Sasmit Patra has provided Rs. 1 crore from his MPLAD Fund to meet the challenges due to the COVID-19.

The BJD MP spoke to District Collector of Mayurbhanj, his nodal district and started the process to release the fund.

“Mayurbhanj has special needs, being a tribal-dominated and an inter-state border district has special needs. Together, we can and we will fight this menace and defeat it”, Dr. Patra said in a statement.

The Rajya MP has thanked the entire district administration, the doctors, nurses, paramedical staffs, police personnel and others who are doing such a tremendous service to the people of Mayurbhanj at this critical juncture.
