BJD Rubbishes BJP’s Allegations on COVID-19 Testing in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today rubbished the allegations made by the Odisha unit of BJP regarding the conduct of the COVID-19 testing in the State.

Countering the Odisha BJP general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan’s allegations that the State Government is not following the standard operating procedure (SOP) for COVID-19 testing, BJD spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sasmit Patra said that the COVID-19 testing is being done by the Odisha Government as per the guidelines of the Central Government for symptomatic persons.

“As far as COVID testing is concerned, it is being done as per Government of India guidelines for Symptomatic persons. In fact more testing is being done in this regard than less”, Dr. Patra said.

“If the BJP had known the Centre’s norms and spoken would have been better”, he said.

The BJD leader further said that all those people who are completing their quarantine satisfactorily will get Rs.2000 from the State Government.

“In this fight against Corona we have to fight together. Odisha Government has done well to protect the state and we must all work together to protect Odisha”, he added.

Earlier today, Harichandan alleged that the State Government is not following the SOP for COVID-19 testing at the quarantine centres.
