Bhubaneswar: As an initiative towards reducing environmental pollution and to encourage the use of non-motorized vehicle, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to declare every Friday a ‘No Vehicle Day’.
The BMC has urged all the officers and employees including consultant and outsourced staff not to use any vehicle either four wheelers or two wheelers for their to and from office journey on Friday.
The official vehicles assigned for official use of officers shall also be avoided, the BMC said in a notification.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect, it added.
