CBI Raids Premises Of Karnataka Congress Leader DK Shivakumar And His Brother

Bengaluru: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday raided the premises of senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar in connection with the alleged corruption case against him. At least 14 locations including nine in Karnataka, four in Delhi, and one in Mumbai are being raided by the CBI.

As per sources, the CBI teams conducted raids at DK Shivakumar house in Sadashivanagar in Bengaluru and DK Suresh’s properties in Kanakapura and Bengaluru. The sources also added that CBI SP Thomson Jose led the search operation that began at 6 am today and that the central agency had procured a warrant from the CBI Special Court judge late on Sunday evening.

Last year, the 58-year-old Karnataka Congress chief was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate after four days of questioning over money-laundering allegations.

The CBI raids were condemned by senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah. “@BJP4India has always tried to indulge in vindictive politics & mislead public attention. The latest CBI raid on @KPCCPresident @DKShivakumar‘s house is another attempt to derail our preparation for bypolls. I strongly condemn this,” Siddaramaiah tweeted.
