Charge Sheet to be filed within 20 days: Asish Singh

Puri: Taking cognizance of the seriousness of the offence, Puri Police has decided to fast track the investigation of the rape of a minor lady yesterday.

DIG (Central Range) Ashish Singh has said that the investigation is continuing and the accused has been arrested.

Due to the seriousness of the case, police is trying to file charge sheet against the accused within 20 days.

Addressing the media, Asish Singh has said that investigation is going on and senor officials are monitoring the investigation.

The victim has been counseled and financial help has been provided. The police will request the Court to fast track the case on a priority basis. If required, help of a special Public Prosecutor will be taken to fast track the case.

Asish Singh has said that the accused should be given an exemplary punishment so that a strong message goes to the perpetrators of law.

He also said that another case has also been filed against the accused for keeping with him a fake police identity card.
