Berhampur: As every year, this year also the inmates of Shraddha Sanjivani Child Care Home in Gopalpur celebrated the birthday of their most admired mentor VK Pandian.
They celebrated the birthday with much splendor as it is the most memorable day for the fifty five children of this orphanage.
They celebrated the birthday of the most special person in their life by cutting a cake and organizing various fun and fair activities in the institution. On this occasion, the children participated in a Jhoti Competition and plantation drive inside their child care home premises with much fun and fair but adhering to Covid-19 guidelines. They cut a cake on this occasion and had a feast of delicacies celebration the day. The inmates of the child care home organized tree plantation programme.
The Shraddha Sanjivani Child Care Home is a brainchild of VK Pandian and took shape when he was the Collector of Ganjam. As he is always having a soft corner towards the children of Shraddha Sanjivani, he makes it a point to visit them often. Currently, it houses more than fifty children below the age of 18 years.
The child care home was established in 2007 to provide an alternative family living to the HIV infected orphans and vulnerable children with proper healthcare. It also enables children to get proper education and develop technical skills to make them self reliant when they go out of the Care center.
According to Lokanath Mishra, one of the founding members of Shraddha Sanjeevani who looks after the child care home, “The children are very happy to celebrate the birthday of the most important person of their lives VK Pandian Sir. They remember his visit to the institution and celebrate the day as a special day. Because of him only a number of children have got a new hope in life.”
